Antara is a website for a small architecture and interiors practice that takes on a few houses a year: the same two people drawing a building, choosing its materials, and still being on site when it’s built.

The site is ordered the way a practice like this gets hired: the work first, then who does it, then how. Five houses each have a written brief, a fact panel and photography treated as the argument rather than the decoration.

  1. 01

    Work first

The archive leads. Each house has its own brief and facts, so the practice is judged on what it builds.

  2. 02

    Photography as the argument

Large, calm images carry each house, with captions and facts instead of slogans, so the buildings do the persuading.
